Moving: Need recommendation for Emmaus Community

Post by kriswharton »

Moving on 12/1/2020 to East Central KS.

The nearest communities are in Ozark MO, Fayetteville AR, Tulsa OK, and Wichita KS.

Recommendations?

These are listed in order by distance, near to far.

Thanks,

Not sure why I didn't get a notification for this post so just now saw this.

I would say your best bet is to first check with people that have hopefully attended a Walk in your new church home when you decide on one. Perhaps Emmaus attendance in a congregation will influence your decision which church community to attend as well.

Second is look at the various websites if they have one and see how active they seem to be. Obviously nobody has likely held Walks or Gatherings much this year so you'd need to look at prior years. If there websites don't exist or don't have past info (you can also use archive.org to find past info of a site), I think your only other recourse is to CALL the Upper Room Emmaus office and ask how many weekends each have had the past few years. I'm guessing they wouldn't provide info on whether they have had issues with a community following the Emmaus model though you could always ask.

Best wishes in your new community!
